A Continental novelty porcelain dish, late 19th /early 20th century, the shell shaped dish with two frogs in costume sword fighting, one wearing a German military helmet holding a sword to the other's throat. From a rare series of novelty frog dishes which were possibly originially fairings, although they are very nicely modelled. In very condition, one firing crack to the bowl.
