A Samson of Paris armorial porcelain plate, late 19th century, in the Chinese export taste, painted with a large central armorial within a honeycombe border reserved with butterflies and floral posies.

Founded in 1845, Edmé Samson et Cie, specialised in making reproductions of ceramics on display in museums and private collection, including those by Chelsea, Meissen, Sevres, Worcester and Chinese export porcelain items. Samson is often confused with the originals but are of good quality and collectible in their own right.
