Samson of Paris Famille Rose Armorial Porcelain Plate

A Samson of Paris famille rose plate, late 19th century, painted with a central armorial within a foliate scattered ground and shaped cross-hatched borders in the Chinese Export manner.

Founded in 1845, Edmé Samson et Cie, specialised in making reproductions of ceramics on display in museums and private collection, including those by Chelsea, Meissen, Sevres, Worcester and Chinese export porcelain items. Samson is often confused with the originals but are of good quality and collectible in their own right.
