A Samson of Paris 'Worcester' type porcelain vase, late 19th century, of ovoid form with everted rim, the deep blue ground hand painted with reserves of ho-o birds in a tree filled landscape within gilt rococo scroll borders, the underside with first period Worcester mark.
Founded in 1845, Edmé Samson et Cie, specialised in making reproductions of ceramics on display in museums and private collection, including those by Chelsea, Meissen, Sevres, Worcester and Chinese export porcelain items. Samson is often confused with the originals but are of good quality and collectible in their own right.
In excellent condition with no restoration, chips or cracks, the gilding in bright with no losses.
