A George III mahogany chest of drawers, circa 1780, the rectangular top with black edge stringing, over two short and three long drawers with cockbeaded edges and brass drop handles, over a reeded lower edge and raised on shaped bracket feet. The top two drawers lined with 1845 newspaper, the long drawers with original blue paper lining.
A nice quality chest of drawers in good, clean, condition. It has been re-polished at some point (not recently) and the brass handles are replacements. The lock to the top right hand drawer is a Victorian replacement, all the others are original.
