A good pair of 19th Century French giltwood fauteuils of good proportions in Louis XV style, the foliate carved and channel moulded frames with original gilded and paint embellished finish. The shaped back with foliate carved cresting over a pair of shaped arms and sprung seats, raised on cabriole legs with central foliate carving on the front stretcher. Upholstered in pale silver/grey silk damask type fabric with bullion trim.
The chairs are in good, robust order and the carving is of good quality and well detailed. The fabric, although undamaged is grubby, particularly the arm pads, I have not attempted to clean them. I can arrange re-covering if required - please contact me to discuss further.
The backs 90cm high, the seats 64cm wide at the front, 54cm deep and 42cm high.
