A pair of exceptional quality armchairs of generous proportions, the roll-top square backs with downswept arms, with sprung seats and raised on ring turned mahogany supports terminating in brass castors. Upholstered in high quality green and red fabrics, the backs and seats in a deep green damask, the backs overlaid with a panel of cut 'antiqued' moquette fabric giving an aged appearance, the outside arms and backs in a woven chequered fabric and with deep passementerie trimming.
NB: These chairs were made by Paul Hitchings Ltd as a bespoke commission for CVP Designs (renowned Interior designer Christopher Vane Percy) for a house in Eaton Square, London.
