A good quality Victorian button back bedroom chair, with pretty scrolled shaped high back, the ring turned mahogany legs with Cope & Collinson patent brass castors.
The upholstery is a blue cotton velvet, most likely dating from the 1940's or 50's, as is the gimp trim. Cope & Collinson brass castors are found on the best quality upholstered furniture from the 19th Century, including makers such as Howard & Son and Maple & Co.
A very comfortable chair, the seat is sprung and of good proportions. The blue velvet is in overall good condition but a little grubby in places. Should you wish to re-cover it's only the top cover that would need replacing as the upholstery and springing is in good condition.
Seat measures 36cm high, 57cm wide and 52cm deep. Height of back is 78cm
