A Victorian deep seated Howard style armchair by Cornelius V Smith of country house proportions, with square button back, sprung seat and scroll-over arms, raised on short ring turned mahogany front supports with brass and porcelain castors. Newly upholstered in William Yeoward jute weave stripe fabric.
A fabulously comfortable armchair, newly restored and traditionally upholstered. The front castors are original, the back castors are Victorian examples but not original to the chair.
With Cornelius V Smith mark stamped on one of the back legs.
