A Victorian papier mache tray by Jennens & Bettridge, circa 1850, of shaped oval form with hand embellished transfer printed decoration of scattered flowers and butterflies, stamped 'JENNENS & BETTRIDGES' to the reverse, upon a later customer made faux bamboo stand.
In very good condition overall, there is some wear to the decoration, predominately to gilded stalks/strands, some overall craquelure with some larger multiple strands of craquelure, the reverse with marks and scratches commensurate with age. The base with odd chips, the felt platform with additional black paint.
