A London Delft tile circa 1740, painted in blue, green and iron red with a vase of flowers and with foliate corner spandrels.The reverse with a label for The Blanchett Collection and numbered 2716, together with a Liverpool Delft tile painted in the Fazackerly style with a vase of flowers.

Chris Blanchett was a collector and specialist in tiles and architectural ceramics. He wrote and dealt in books about tiles, mosaics, brick, terra cotta and stone. He was a committee member of the Tiles & Architectural Ceramics Society from 1983-2013, honorary Life Member of Tile Heritage Foundation, and adviser to the Church Recorders section of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS). Author of three volume work on '20th Century Decorative British Tiles' (Schiffer Publishing 2006), and contributor to many other publications on tiles.

The London Delft tile has the top left corner section missing, and some edge chiipping, the Liverpool tile has various edge chips.
