Janet Ledger, Industrial Landscape, oil on board, within a gilt frame.
Janet Ledger was born in Northampton in 1934 and studied painting at the Northampton School of Art.
Her work, with its strong observational skills and use of colour has often drawn comparison to L.S. Lowry and the industrial landscapes in particular have a great feeling of atmosphere.
Janet Ledger's work has been exhibited widely both in the U.K. and abroad and her paintings can be found in many public and private collections, including those of the late HRH Princess Margaret, The Coal Board, Marks and Spencer, MacDonalds, Mowlem and National Westminster Bank. The Tate Gallery have two Janet Ledger prints in their collection.
