A large 19th century Italian architectural trompe l'oeil panel, hand painted in oil on canvas in Renaissance style with a central grotesque mask flanked by swags of fruit, wheat and foliage, in a later wooden frame.
39cm x 229cm including frame.
A very decorative architectural panel that would have been part of an interior scheme. I has several old repairs (see photograph of reverse). Formerly the property of, and removed from, the actress Cleo Rose's castle 'Torre Petti' near Todi in Umbria.
