This watercolour epitomises the 1960s with a Robin Day Polyprop chair central to the composition, variously scattered with copies of Studio International magazine and a VAT 69 bottle. </p><p>Florence Blanche Cains, a Bristol artist, studied at the school of art 1922-27, specialised in calligraphy and embroidery and head of department at St George Grammar School, Bristol. She was a member of SWA and exhibited widely at RA, RI and RWA.
