An extremely comfortable Victorian solid mahogany office chair, circa 1840, with button upholstered leather back panel and nicely shaped arms, the dished seat supported on ring turned and channel moulded front supports with brass castors and straight back supports joined by turned H-shaped stretchers.
This chair has been well used, with the odd blemish but giving the seat a rich patination. The back panel has been re-upholstered in green leather with an 'antiqued' finish giving the appearance of age. One stretcher has an old repair and the white porcelain back castors are antique but are replacements.
87cm high, 64cm wide, 60cm deep (depth of seat is 54cm).
