A Victorian Staffordshire porcelain christening mug, hand inscribed in gilt:

'Mary Ann Powell Potter
 Born Nov. 14th 1852 
 No.9 Northwich Terrace, Bath Road, Cheltenham'

within gilt line borders and with leaf moulded, gilt scroll handle.

It's quite unusual for a christening mug to also include the address of the recipient, more commonly they have a name or initials and a date.

9cm high

Condition: No damage or restoration or wear to the gilt however the porcelain is fairly discoloured.

Together with a Staffordshire porcelain friendship mug of a similar date, painted in coloured enamels with flowers and hand inscribed in gilt:

'When this you see remember me
And bear me in your mind
Let all the world
Say what they will
Speak of me as you find'

9.5cm high

Condition: The enamels are nice and bright and with minimal wear to gilt rim, however there is one small hairline crack at the rim (see photograph)
