An absolutely stunning Vintage Chinese full length silk evening coat or housecoat, circa 1950's, the deep burgundy silk in a bamboo pattern, the collar, cuffs, pockets and wide borders being padded and overstitched in a wave design giving a lot of body to the coat, with mandarin collar, turn-back cuffs and pockets which stand away from the body of the coat, fastening with toggles down the front and with a wide tie belt, the ends of which are also stitched in a wave design. The coat has a thick quilted lining and is extremely heavy and warm. Bears a label for 'The Old Peking Silk Co., Kowloon, Hong Kong'.
Would best fit a UK size 10-12.
In excellent vintage condition, very clean fabric, no damage, moth or silk rot. There is one barely noticeable stain on the bodice and the inside of the back of the neck has some wear to the silk.
