An Egyptian applique textile wall hanging, circa 1920's/30's, worked on a cotton ground with scenes of figures, animals and hieroglyphs.
These Egyptian panels were made as tourist souvenirs after Howard Carter discovered Tutankhamen's tomb in 1922 and helped to satisfy the mania for all things Egyptian.
Condition is good overall, colours remain bright and vibrant, there is some wear and slight staining in places.
Please see my other listing for the matching pair to this panel.
