A lovely Vintage French blue metis dowry sheet, monogrammed with the initials C.C. and with wide ladder-work hem. The white hand embroidered initials are thickly worked and the ladder-work hem, which is also white, extends back into the turn-back of the sheet.
Coloured sheets of this type are quite rate and this one is a good large size measuring 226cm wide x 292cm long which would fit a king-size bed.
In excellent condition.
NB: Metis is the traditional fabric used for sheets in France. A mixture of linen and cotton it is thick and extremely durable.
