A Pretty Antique Giltwood Fauteuil in Louis XVI Style of generous proportions, the foliate carved scroll frame with original gilt decoration and with green velvet deep buttoned seat and back.
The chair is in good overall condition, with nice patina, wear and touching up to the gilding commensurate with it's age. The height of chair has been raised with the addition of brass sabots to the scroll feet - these could easily be removed if required. The green velvet fabric appears to be original to the chair and has a nicely worn appearance, there is one small repaired hole to the front right and a few other imperfections. I can arrange to have the fabric replaced at cost but it has a nice, aged appearance and is perfectly serviceable.
Height of back 101cm high, Seat measures 67cm wide at the front, 54cm deep and is 47cm high (could be reduced to 41cm with the removal of the brass sabots).
