Unusual Winged Elm Folk Art Twig Table

A very unusual Victorian Winged Elm (also known as Cork Elm) Occasional Table, circa 1880, the branches joined in a criss-cross pattern and with brass stops at the ends. The top later inset with a panel of faux crocodile skin.
The winged/cork elm tree has a very unusual bark which is very knobbly on young trees.
