A pretty pair of Victorian japanned chairs with gilt foliate decoration, cane seats and upon out-swept supports.
The chairs are very solid and the seats have been re-caned and are undamaged. As is usual with this type of furniture the japanning has been touched up in places and it appears the seats were surface upholstered at some point in their history.
