A very pretty Copeland & Garrett Felspar Porcelain cup and saucer, circa 1840, beautifully hand painted with reserves of butterflies, floral posies and leaves within an elaborate cobalt blue ground enriched with gilt flowers and scrolls.
In very good condition, no wear to the gilding or enamels and the colours remain nice and bright. There is one small rim chip to the underside of the saucer (see photograph).
Green printed mark to base 'COPELAND & GARRETT FELSPAR PORCELAIN LATE SPODE' within a cartouche and the painted pattern number '5563'
Height of cup 7.5cm, Saucer measures 15cm diam.
