An original vintage laundry basket from Whiteley's department store, with leather bound edges, leather straps, carrying apertures to either side and wooden runners to the underside. Stencilled 'WHITELEY'S' to the front and with the client laundry number A188 stencilled to either side.
Whiteley's was a large department store in Bayswater, London. It closed in the early 1980's and is now a shopping centre.
