A rare 19th Century chromolithographic anatomical life size model, produced by James T. White & Co., New York, circa 1886. Retailers label for Bailliere, Tindall & Cox, London.
Consisting of two folding panels, each containing a half of the human body, with stitched fold-over sheets revealing different parts and layers of the human anatomy, both male and female. Each panel 87cm x 60cm (176cm x 60cm when open).
Condition: Some creasing and staining, original retaining rods which hold the pages back are now missing, with later backboards applied to strengthen the panels, folding strut to the rear has a section missing.
