Antique French Hand Stitched Hemp & Linen Nightshirt

An Antique 19th Century Hemp and Linen Nightshirt from South West France. The colour is a soft unbleached creamy white, very tactile cloth with lots of slubs. With the exception of the front yoke it is beautifully hand stitched throughout with tiny stitches, worked with a great deal of skill. Monogrammed in red threads `A.P.` at the front and with inset triangular panels under the arms and at the side seams.
