Dimensions:
A Mason's ironstone footbath circa 1830, in Pekin Japan pattern, of rectangular hexagonal baluster form with twin serpent handles, printed and overpainted with a design in the oriental manner, the interior similarly decorated.
Although this footbath is unmarked, its companion piece (a water pail) bears the Masons FENTON STONE WORKS printed mark used between 1825 and 1840.
In good condition overall with no cracks of repairs, there is some slight crazing to the glaze and some staining to the interior (see photograph), two chips to the inner rim.
Would make a fantastic planter.
