Dimensions:

H: 43cm (16.9")W: 53cm (20.9")

A pair of coloured stipple engravings 'The Tea Garden' and 'St James's Park' by Francois David Soiron after paintings by George Morland.

Printed within the plate 'Painted by G. Morland' and 'Engraved by F.D. Soiron'.

Morland's most popular works were painted specifically for the print trade. 'The Tea Garden' and it's companion picture, 'St James's Park' depict scenes of fashionable middle-class families taking tea beneath the shade of a tree. The pair were first engraved in 1790 and several times thereafter. These examples date from the latter part of the 19th century. Within gilt gesso frames.
