JAAP HARTMAN (Netherlands, born 1950), a patinated bronze figure of a girl removing her chemise, signed 'HARTMAN' on the base, raised on a square marble plinth.

Jaap Hartman is a renowned sculptor and bronze caster in his native Netherlands. He studied at the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts and the Rijks Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam. His figurative sculptures are particularly well observed 

Hartman works using a methodical and slow process to build up layers until the work reaches its final from.  Once achieved, the technically complex phase of making the mould, casting, finishing and patinating the work takes place.
