A 19th century Dowry Chest from the Dir or Swat Valley regions of the Hindu-Kush in Pakistan, the chest made of Himalayan Cedar and of jointed construction, with four finials to the rectangular top, the panelled front carved with geometric motifs of Persian influence, the right hand side sliding open to access the interior and raised on four tall spade feet.
In good sturdy and original, condition overall with good patination. Minor historic worm to right back foot.
