French Empire Marble Top Mahogany Gueridon

A French Empire mahogany gueridon, circa 1820, the original white marble top with moulded edge upon tapering cylindrical column support with a milled gilt brass collar and triangular concave base with roundel ends and recessed castors.

A nice, period gueridon and of good colour. The marble is a milky white and in very good condition with no cracks or repairs. The column and gallery have some old repairs to the veneer in places as is common on this type of gueridon, the base has some traces of very old worm (not present).
