A Regency Mahogany Breakfront Compactum Wardrobe, circa 1815, originally from Warleigh Manor, Bath. The stepped cornice over a central section with a pair of panel doors opening to reveal slide out trays, the door with brass trim and original key, over two short and four long graduated drawers, the left hand cupboard with a hanging rail to the interior, the right hand cupboard with two panelled doors, the upper section with a hanging rail and removable shelves, the lower section with a hanging rail, the whole raised on bracket feet.

Provenance: The original key with a label inscribed 'The Lady Mary Skrein, Warleigh Manor, Bath'. 
Warleigh Manor was built for Henry Duncan Skrein in 1814-1815. Lady Mary Skrine (nee Mary Jane Gore-Langton) married Sir Henry Mills Skrine (JP) in 1872 and resided at Warleigh Manor until her death in 1923. The estate remained in the Skrein family until 1956 the the contents were sold. This compactum was purchased from the sale.
